Nardil (phenelzine sulfate) 15 mg tablets are an orange, film-coated, biconvex, round prescription medication used to treat certain types of depression and anxiety disorders, particularly when other antidepressants have been ineffective. It is an irreversible monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI).

Appearance: The tablets are orange, round, film-coated, biconvex, and often engraved with "P-D 270" (depending on the manufacturer/distributor).
Indications: It is primarily used for the treatment of major depression, especially in patients with "atypical" features or who have not responded to other treatments. It is also effective for panic disorder and social anxiety disorder.
Dosage: The usual starting dose for adults is one 15 mg tablet three times a day, which may be increased to a maximum of 90 mg per day under medical supervision.
Mechanism: Phenelzine works by blocking the action of monoamine oxidase (MAO) enzymes in the brain, thereby increasing the levels of mood-regulating neurotransmitters like serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine
